In 1702 our future home, Mobile AL, was founded as the capitol of French Louisianna. The capitol was later moved to Biloxi, MS due to battles in Mobile when France warred with Spain in 1720. In 1763 Britain took control of Mobile after the 7 years war, but was captured by Spain 17 years later. This meant that Mobile was Spanish territory during the American Revolution and as such was not a part of the newly founded country until 1813 when it was captured by American forces. At this point Mobile was part of the Mississippi territory until it was rezoned into the Alabama territory in 1817.
